Have you got a F.O.O.T problem?
Yes I haven’t gone completely crazy! (Yet) and I am speaking about Internet Marketing, not a problem that you’re going to have to go see your doctor about so don’t sweat!
What I am actually speaking about is a great problem you should have within Internet Marketing and that is Focus On One Thing. Pretty neat right? But it is so true! It mainly is something that newbie’s have the problem with coping with but still occurs sometimes with us experienced marketers.
For a totally newbie to Internet marketing, the Internet is a whole new world, and there are so many different roads to take to start making money online! But we are only human and we can only fully focus on one thing at a time! So with IM the list is endless on how you can make money online, whether its product creation, affiliate marketing, continuity programs, CPA etc, the list goes on and people don’t believe me when I tell them you can actually make money online!
Then to top that off there are many ways to also get traffic (Because with out traffic we have nothing!) i.e. video marketing PPC, Social Marketing, Facebook Ads and again the list goes on and on.
So the thing is what exactly do you choose and how?
What I say is you find someone who is actually making money online, now you do not need to know them personally or hire them as a mentor etc but actually follow them and see what they are doing. So if this were me, I would pick a guru within Internet Marketing who I really respect and see exactly what they are doing!
So how would you would start.
As you can imagine everyone has to start somewhere that is the truth and the guru’s I the game now are no different! Also what you have to take into consideration what a marketer was doing maybe 10 years does not always apply to now, for example a few years ago Google AdWords would have been most marketers portal to riches online but not today because of the Google slap blah blah (You know the rest)
But with the power of Google, what I would do is type in the Guru who:
- I respect within internet Marketing
- I know they make serious money online
Have you ever heard the saying if you hang around with the rich you become wealthy or if you hang around with the poor you become poor… The saying actually is true its all to do with mindset etc, but we will come to that another day. So am guessing what you want is to be rich right? Who doesn’t! So what we would do is go over to our trusty friend Google and get our thinking caps on…
So what I would so is I would want to type in a Guru who fits the criteria (Which is not hard to find guys,) so for example I would type in Ryan Deiss as I have learnt a lot from him personally, obviously choose whoever you think is suitable for you.
So I would go to Google and what do you know all these pages. So what I would do is I would list down what I see Ryan doing so for example (Do this now if you want) on Google I see Total Access club which I know Is a membership site, I see an opt in page called social media matrix and so on.
So I would go through a few pages of Google and see not what I can copy but what I can use in my business, so maybe already am thinking, I need to have a membership site within IM or I need to have multiple squeeze pages etc, as I can see Ryan doing this and the truth is, if it was not working for him he would still not have them up on Google its that simple and so on.
So now already you have a focus, you also have a role model within Internet Marketing which I believe is the most important thing of all. So now you have done this you would then decide, what is X Guru doing to make the most money, fro example sake again, what I would do is opt in to the guru’s list and monitor what they send me, whether its products to buy etc, and go into detail at looking at the prices why they are recommending them etc
So I have now figured out that the best way to start would be by creating a membership site, then creating my own products, then going into building my list and selling affiliate products to that list.
So now you have a focus you know exactly what you want to do, and what I say is do not worry about what all the other guru’s are releasing etc, only focus on buying or learning from that one person, obviously in some cases you won’t be able to pay the price that they are offering on their products but the saying I use is “Watch what they do, not what they sell” you will learn a lot more from just watching how they sell etc in most cases, than actually what you will get from buying their product!
So go find you guru, start stalking them and then you will start to develop the all-important F.O.O.T Problem

If you want to run a business online then you have to have traffic it is as simple as that! 3. Adswapping with other marketers, the only downfall is that you need your own list, and something of value to give away.
4. Google search engine indexes images in your web pages. When someone uses Google Image Search to find images on the web, what chance does your website have to show up in the search results? If you know how to optimize images in your web pages, your images will have high rankings in the image search results.
5. Creating how to videos within your niche and then using a tool such as Tube Mogul to upload your video to the major video sharing sites.
6. Social Networking is growing each and everyday so you need to be involved, Twitter and Facebook are the major players to be using.
7. Link Building- If you can start to building links to your desired website then your Page Rank is going to increase which in theory means more people are going to find it easier to find you on Google.
8. Optimizing your website (SEO)
9. Social Bookmarking very easy to do and Google likes Social Bookmarking sites.
10. Viral Marketing is always key, if you can give away something and others keep doing the same thing with your product, all you need if you are giving away an ebook is a few links here and there then your guaranteed instant traffic.

Two Marketing Strategies to Make Money Online with Affiliate Programs
The first strategy to make money online is building a list.
This strategy is the most important step to continue to make money long term. If you do not already have some type of autoreponder system you need to get one. Don’t be cheap here either because your entire business will hinge on this one piece of software.
An effective way of building your list is from the traffic that visits your website. This step, which is probably the most effective,does require you to have a website in order to implement an opt-in list form. Of course if your Affiliate program does offer a list management service then you can send traffic to the affiliate URL, but I don’t recommend it as you will usually not be able to email the entire list with special offers.
To make the most of your opt-in form and get the most signups, you should place it in your sales page text. It should best rategically located in the sales text after you present a problem. The title of your autoresponder email series should address the problem by offering asolution. In the example below we will assume that I am selling a hosting package and I want opt-in subscribers to my email course for back-end sales.

The second strategy to make money online is driving traffic to your website.
When I say traffic, I don’t just mean any old traffic, I mean targeted traffic, people who are motivated and ready to buy can and will make you money. You can use programs and techniques such as Google Adwords, bloging, article writing and linking to drive targeted traffic to your website. Google Adwords is a resource offered by Google in which you can payfor your site to be show when certain keywords are queried in their search engine.
The secret to using Adwords is not to bid high on popular keywords. Instead,what you do is find similar keywords that still describe your website, but are used much less frequent. These keywords will cost much less to bid on and will allow you to spread your money out over many different keywords, getting the most bang for your buck.
Blogging is another great way to drive targeted traffic to your website. To get the most out of this technique the blog should be hosted on the same website as the sales page witch links to your affiliate program. Once its setup all you have to do is fill your blogwith good quality content.
I recommend writing your own content which specifically relates to your affiliate program and or products. Once you have some content you will need to submit your RSS feed to the as many blog search engines as you can. This will put your blog out there for other webmasters to use as content feeds on their websites.
This win-win situation allows webmasters to have quality content on their website, which increases the value of that website while driving targeted traffic directly to you.
This is done by the URL link that you conveniently placed under your name after the blog was written. That means that your link is on a blog feed that is on thousands of websites. Not only do people click those links but Google sees these links pointing back to you and thinks that you’re popular and you are rewarded with a higher page rank.
Article writing is basically the same as blogging except the information in an article will need to have more useful content and be peppered with keywords that the webmasters are looking for. After completing your article you will submit (syndicate) it to content sites as opposed to blogsearch engines.
Content sites are places where webmasters go to find specific content to offer their readers. If you are a good writer you may at some point build up a name for yourself and finagle a deal with a webmaster to write exclusives for his site. His readers get great exclusive content and you get highly motivated targeted traffic.
Linking is perhaps the most widely used form of increasing traffic and page rank. However, if done incorrectly you could end up hurting your Google page rank and ultimately loosing potential buyers. You will need your own website for this technique as you will need a ‘links’ page to place your reciprocal links on.
Many people go and submit their URL links to link farms in an attempt to trick Google into giving them a better page rank. This does NOT work; in fact Google has been known to penalize websites for engaging in these activities.
The secret to linking is to find websites in your niche market which have a Google page rank of 4 or above and enticing the webmaster to list your link on their website. You may think that you would be helping your competition, well you would be. But your competition would be helping you as well. It’s better to send leaving traffic to a partner than just having them close their browser window, and remember that works both ways.

The Entrepreneur Bootcamp 09 Aftermath
I have been thinking for the past few days and even tossing and turning last night thinking to myself whether this is the right thing to do, even now as I type this on my train journey home I still am wondering and keep changing my mind thinking if I should actually do this,
So what I am asking for basically is your help here, what I have been planning out last night (yes it was a late one) and all today is a great strategy. As you know I attended the Entrepreneur Bootcamp 09 at the o2 arena yesterday and there was some fantastic speakers on show and they had a lot to offer, me been human I took down notes, obviously been human I learnt some new things and some things I already knew, when thinking back to the event now the majority of the things they were teaching I could actually be teaching people in more depth. So then came that Ureka moment…
I spoke to many people at the event and what most of them were telling me was the reasons for not getting started were:
They didn’t know how to
No Time
Lack of funding
Move from one opportunity to another
Like I said all these great speakers gave great content to an extent, but like I said in my previous post, it was the 80-20 rule 80% content 20% selling. Even though they was offering all these shinny bonus packages with there programs and packages I realised when the prices came up peoples faces did drop, I was never there yesterday to buy anything more of just what to see is on the market currently and to win the Bentley GT J. So what I decided to “observe” was everytime the speakers offered a price for there courses I turned my head around me to see how people got so excited by what they was offering with what I said was the shinny bonuses and packages, so everyones emotions were on a high then the happy arm reaching people faces seem to become jaded once figures off £1000- £9000 were coming out to be part of the course and get all the shinny bonuses! Don’t get me wrong this was not in every case some people were filling in forms with their credit cards out within minutes! Now I do not know if it is me, but people basically paid a donation to the great charity “make a wish” to attend this spectacular event, so keeping this in mind I didn’t think many people would be forking out on average around £2500, on courses and products that the speakers were offering. No where on the ticket it said, “Please bring your Platinum Credit Card with you as you will be offered everything!” Oh by the way on a positive note some speakers were very generous by offering payment plans and guarantees which as you can imagine drew people in even more.
I Know how Internet marketing works and people buy on emotions i.e. When the speaker says “only 200 places” or be one of the 1st 20 to receive blah blah blah, but then to my amazement I still saw people signing up for the exact same course or product on the last day after the event as what people were signing up for on the first day and getting the same offer!… Hmmm I thought to myself, so when I left on the Saturday night I took one of Armand Morions leaflets and looked through it and realised I know half of the strategies he is using. So this got me umming and arghhing again.
So what I now have in motion, with my thoughts 90% towards this idea in this is to help people wanting to get started with Internet Marketing, people who I spoke to over the past current days, people who did not have the thousands of pounds to fork out for these courses and packages. This is for people who just want to learn and better their life! So what I have put together is what I like to call a “lite package” not light on information but lite on price, catchy?? What this means is people who want to learn Internet Marketing actually can, I have all this knowledge within Internet Marketing and they say knowledge is power BUT it is nothing if you do not use it am I correct? Like I said this thought is now turning into something which is where it all starts, No sales page set up just a simple blog post at the moment!
Like I said I need your help, if I am to go through with this I clearly need people who are willing to actually put their foot forward and take action. No price has been confirmed yet, but the package has and for new internet marketers all the way upwards will be able to benefit from this.
